So far so good
I ordered this unit during the holiday end of year sale. The timing and FedExs handling of the first unit constituted a return and shipment of a second unit. I finally was able to get a few decent days in my area to do the install. Everything went together nicely and the unit powered up in heat mode and ran quietly for 24 hours. I only plan to use this when I am working in my garage so it will not be run continuously. So far it seems like a solid product. Customer support has been prompt and responsive.

Awesome Addition!
This is an awesome addition to my garage/shop. Here, I use the garage as a shop once I back out the cars. In the summer the temps in the garage are about 85 degrees and wintertime dip to the low 50's. So far, it has had no problems keeping the garage cool in the low 70's. It is wonderful to work out there now. The bride appreciates it because I'm not working in the basement! The install was predictable. There are several YouTube videos showing how to install mini-splits. The videos showing the Mr Cool install is very close to the TOSOT installation. I do recommend the LRN2DIY third video. Do not underestimate the electrical work! I do recommend using 10-gauge wire and using fuses in the disconnect box for the recommended amperage per TOSOT. This way you can upgrade to a larger/multi mini-split system without rewiring. After watching several different videos, I realized hoisting the indoor unit up (on a ladder) can be sporting. I temporarily install huge garage hooks about 1.5"~2" below the unit to help ease the installation. The outdoor unit install is straight forward but heavy. Plan accordingly. We mounted on the wall using brackets with 300# capacity. The rubber damper feet keep any vibration off the wall and not transferred. I did cut the line set to the minimum length and had to re-flare the copper tube ends. The 5/8" tubing went fine with the flaring tool. However, the 1/4" tube took a few tries to get it correct. I'd practice first on the cut off pieces. Even trimmed, I still had 3 feet to loop around. If I had to do it over, I'd move the outdoor down the wall, so I don't have to loop the line set. This unit is so quiet -- both inside and outside! Unbelievably quiet. Since this is a heat pump for heat, I do acknowledge there is a point where heat pumps don't work when it's too cold. In that case, I'll use my Mr. Heat electric heater which sounds like a jet engine. Typically, this would be less than a dozen days per winter in the Midwest. You can control the mini-split with the included remote or a cell phone app. For those of you using Home Assistant, there is a Gree+ Integration. The HA Integration works well and recognized my TOSOT right off the bat. Kudos to the authors of the GREE+ Integration! For the price and a little bit a of work, you can install this mini-split series yourself! Highly recommend.

Outstanding Unit
I purchased this unit from Home Depot in Mobile, Alabama and installed the TOSOT 24000 BTU mini split in my 1000 sq ft shop. My shop is attached to my house and constructed with 8" Hebel Block (Aerated Autoclaved Concrete or AAC) clad with Hardy Board lap siding which made the wall piercing a bit more challenging! Also, with no template, I found it a little tedious to measure the hole location. My only issue was there were no rubber insulating feet, no 5mm hex wrench, no filler putty, and no through wall sleeve included, the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. I did the electrical. I'm not an electrician, but very experienced in home electrical and ethernet wiring. I chose to pour a 36x20" concrete slab for the condenser unit. Because we have a lot of thunderstorms down here, I elected to install a surge protector on my outside disconnect. I chose to trim the hose set and re-flare. I highly recommend the use of Nylog Blue and torquing the fittings to specs. Also, practice flaring with the excess pipe you cut off! Pay attention to the need to "reopen" the pipe after cutting, as the cutting process will compress the pipe somewhat. I couldn't be happier with the unit. It looks great, it's super quiet and does the cooling! I was a little disturbed when, about 20 minutes after doing the initial run, the LED temp select indicator on the inside unit went blank. I reset the power to no avail. I saw a suggestion on Google to check the remote batteries. They were OK but a little on the low side. I replaced them with fresh, tested batteries and the LED came back. So, even though there was enough power in the remote to turn the unit on and off, it, apparently needs a little more "juice" to communicate with the inside unit. And there is a limited distance to be aware of. I highly recommend this unit. The iPhone App works great!

So far it is great!
I needed a longer lineset and ordered from the manufacturers site. I was not sure if the lineset I ordered was the proper size because of the writing on the insulation. Thier support was great, I called them, they picked up my call quickly, and followed up in email several times over the next few days to make sure I was all set. I couldn't ask for more! I know, I know there is some hesitation to buy a brand that is not domestically based but in my experience if a company will provide great support it is the true sign that a company cares. Try calling one of the domestic branded producers and report back on the response time and follow up. Just saying.
